The numbers you enter stay on your device
Every calculator on this site runs client-side, in your browser. The income, expenses, and other figures you type are used to compute your estimate on your own device and are never transmitted to us or stored on a server. We have no account system and no database of your inputs. Close the tab and the numbers are gone.
Analytics (Google Analytics 4)
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand which pages people find useful and where the calculator can be improved. GA4 sets cookies and collects standard, aggregate measurement data — pages viewed, approximate location (usually city-level, derived from your IP address, which Google does not report back to us in full), device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site.
This data is used in aggregate to measure traffic and improve the site. It is not tied to your name or the values you enter into any calculator. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all sites by installing Google's opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser. Google's handling of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
Affiliate links (Amazon Associates)
Some pages include links to products on Amazon. Side Hustle Tax Calculator is a participant in the Amazon Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program. If you click one of these links and buy something, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Amazon uses cookies to attribute qualifying purchases.
These commissions help keep the calculator free. They never change what we recommend, and every page is written to be fully useful whether or not you click an affiliate link. See our full affiliate disclosure for more.
Advertising
We may display ads from third-party ad networks (such as Google AdSense) on this site. When we do, those networks may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites, and to measure ad performance. You can review and adjust the ads Google shows you through Google's Ad Settings, and manage cookie-based advertising across many providers via aboutads.info.
We never sell your personal data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone. We don't build advertising profiles from your calculator inputs — we never receive them in the first place. The only data we work with is the aggregate analytics described above.
Your choices
- Cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. The calculators still work without them.
- Analytics opt-out.Use Google's browser add-on linked above to stop GA4 measurement.

Children's privacy
This site is intended for a general adult audience — people managing freelance and self-employment income. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the site handles data, we'll update this page and the “last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected here rather than sent to you, since we don't hold your contact information.
